Not every property is the same, so we don't push one setup on everyone. We'll talk through what actually fits your home or business before we install anything.
Wired cameras — the most reliable option, run on a permanent data cable back to a recorder. No battery to worry about, continuous recording, best picture quality. Best for new builds or where cabling access is easy.
WiFi cameras — no cabling needed, connects straight to your home network. Faster and less disruptive to install, ideal for renters or retrofits. Relies on a solid WiFi signal reaching the camera location.
Solar-powered cameras — a small solar panel keeps the camera's battery topped up permanently, so there's no cabling and no regular battery swaps. Great for sheds, gates, driveways, or anywhere without easy power access.
Hybrid setups — mixing wired cameras where cabling is easy with WiFi or solar units for harder-to-reach spots, so you're not paying for cabling runs you don't need.
We only fit cameras and recorders we'd be happy to have watching our own home — no bargain-bin brands that stop getting updates a year in.
Cameras that never got set up for remote viewing properly
Grainy, useless footage when something actually happens
Blind spots around the driveway, side gate, or back of the property
Old DVR systems that are a pain to access or have stopped recording
Motion alerts that go off constantly or never trigger at all
Wanting cameras but not sure what actually suits your property
Can I view the cameras on my phone? Yes — every system we install gets set up with remote viewing through an app, so you can check in from anywhere.
How many cameras do I need? Depends on the property, but most homes are well covered with 2–4 cameras on key entry points. We'll walk the property with you and recommend positions before quoting.
Do you install on rental properties? Yes, WiFi or solar cameras are usually the better fit for rentals since there's no cabling involved.
What happens to the footage? Depending on your setup, footage is stored on a local recorder, an SD card, or cloud storage through the camera's app — we'll talk you through the options that suit you.
